Trump’s Twitter Tantrum
WASHINGTON D.C. - Trump has remained oddly silently throughout the entire investigation and indictment of former National Security adviser Michael Flynn. However, yesterday he broke his silence via twitter. In the past two days he has tweeted five times, each one bringing a new claim.
The tweets started with simply defending Flynn, then digressed into attacking Hillary Clinton. His first tweet was, “I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI. He has pled guilty to those lies. It is a shame because his actions during the transition were lawful. There was nothing to hide!” This tweet was just a simply statement of guilt and triage on his character to improve people’s view on him. However, the next tweet claims that Flynn lied once to the FBI and “his life is destroyed”, but that Clinton lied many times and nothing has happened to her.
He goes on to question the “justice” of the systems in place. Then talks more about Hillary’s emails, “Deleted and ‘acid washed’ 33,000 Emails.” He finishes the rant declaring, “No justice!” His tweets are read by thousands of people and taken ver seriously by some. Attacking Hillary seems to be his best attempts to change the subject and stop people from thinking too much about Flynn.Today he wrote one more tweet against Hillary, saying “ANTI-TRUMP FBI AGENT LED CLINTON EMAIL PROBE.” There is no evidence to support this claim, and these tweets seem to be another twitter tantrum of our President, claiming fake news, or spreading it.
Speaking of fake news, he made another claim about it, along with attacking Former FBI Director Comey. After Comey’s testimony saying that Trump encouraged him to stop investigating Flynn, Trump wrote, “I never asked Comey to stop investigating Flynn. Just more Fake News covering another Comey lie!” We have Comey’s testimony so we know that Trump is lying about it.
This tweet storm today brought more and more accusations to the table. Not even Trump’s advisers and inner circle know what he will do next.
