Roy Moore a U.S. Senate Candidate Has Been Accused of Sexual Misconduct
ALABAMA - Last Thursday while the race for senate was heating up in Alabama, accusations came out about Roy Moore the current GOP candidate for the senate in Alabama.
The accusations came out and said that Moore had sexually assaulted underage girls. Since last Thursdays accusations there have been more women stepping forward against Moore. It has since come to light that at least five women were the victims of his sexual misconduct, many of them were underage women.
Since these accusations came to light the national GOP has started to distance themselves from Moore. Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell has said that Moore should step down and allow another candidate to take charge, and he also said that he believes the women who came forward. Others in congress have also withdrawn their support or condemned Moore.
Not only on a national level has Moore been condemned, but he even has been shunned by three Alabama newspapers. They all called him “unfit for public office”. Other locals in Alabama want him out of the race as well.
Moore’s team has said that they deny these accusations. They also said they plan to stay in the race. This could be a crushing defeat for the Republicans if Moore stays in the race, and the Democrats could take a senatorial seat in Alabama.
