Trump Visits Puerto Rico After Devastating Hurricane
After the effects of Hurricane Maria that hit Puerto Rico, President Donald Trump has finally taken his part and gone to Puerto Rico. Puerto is a part of the United States of America but is only an American territory. The people of Puerto Rico and Americans urged the president to go and he finally did.
When Trump was asked about spending a, “disproportionate amount of time tweeting complaints about NFL players”, Trump replied, “I have plenty of times on my hands, the governor is so grateful for the job we are doing. In fact, he thanked me specifically for FEMA and all the first responders.” He also said that he thought the anthem protests were more important for America, and not Puerto Rico.
Supposed reports say that Donald Trump had tried to inherit a Spanish accent to just say, “Puerto Rico” and it looks to be true. He said in an Hispanic accent, “We love Pueeeeerto Rico” yelling at the crowd. He also said that again but in a regular, Trump way. Reports say that this was also a nod to Hispanic Heritage Month.
Donald Trump also spurred the Internet and all the media. All because of him throwing supplies to the people. He was not just throwing the supplies, he was throwing/shooting them like a basketball. Most notoriously, paper towels. Videos have been spread across the internet of him throwing them, and giving them away, but it would have been more nice and more Presidential/humble to hand them out to EVERYONE instead of throwing them to where not everyone can get them.
Trump has made some statements about him throwing towels. He defended himself by saying, “ They had these beautiful, soft towels. Very good towel,” and I came in and there was a crowd of a lot of people. And they were screaming and they were loving everything. I was hanging fun, they were having fun, they said, ‘Throw ‘me to me! Throw ‘em to me Mr. President!”
After the visit, Trump had an interview with Fox News. There is going to be a $72 billion in debt and will have to be wiped away,”They owe a lot of money to your friends on Wall Street, and we’re going to have to wipe that out, you're going to say goodbye to that. I don't know if its Goldman Sachs but whoever it is you can wave goodbye to that” He talked about the money Puerto Rico will be in debt and he's just saying that it'll be gone and they still owe Wall Street money, there is some more important things than this. “Thank you, Mr. President, for all you've been doing for the island.” said Gonzalez-Colon. Trump replied with a smile and said,”Well, I want to thank you because you were really generous. And I saw those comments and everybody saw those comments and we really appreciate it.”
