Republicans Push For Tax Reform and Health Care Repeal

WASHINGTON D.C., - The Congressional Republicans are pushing very hard to pass the tax reform. They are also focusing on the Obama Care repeal. That is their top priority for the next few weeks.

According to The Washington Post, the tax reform is “mostly binary,” so the taxes are either raised or lowered. Some of the Trump’s Administration strongly believe that “tax cuts equal economic growth.” The failure of health care means that the only thing left for the GOP caucus is to act on the tax reform. The Republican Party’s reason for being and for having so much power is on the tax reform bill.

The tax reform is mostly for the “rich’ or the 1%. It would cut their taxes and they wouldn’t need to pay more. The deduction for local and state taxes, according to the Congressional Budget Office, will cost the government nearly $1.1 trillion over 10 years. The tax cuts only benefits the rich, and not so much the middle-class

The Republican Party believes that with the failure of the Obama Care repeal in the summer, that the tax reform should be focused on more. Although to pass the repeal they would need support from the White House. The repeal needed 50 votes to be passed. Last week Senator John Mccain voted a no to the bill, which gave the republicans a short amount of votes.

The decisions are to be finalized by the week of September 25. The healthcare bill will expire on September 30. The Republican Party has little to no time to keep the bill alive. If the bill fails Republicans will retire and seats in the GOP will be open for new Senators.

Some democrats, like Gary Cohn say they would leave if the tax reform passes. Only time will tell what will happen this next week. Decisions can be changed and it can change the whole game.
